An Embarrassing Confession So That I Can Get Some Help

I'll get this out of the way: I still watch "Studio 60." I was gonna stop, months ago, but then it started getting almost good. Yes, it's totally sucking now - the dragging in of all the war crap just makes it seem like there's nothing else Aaron Sorkin can write - but Nate Corddry is fantastic and, whatever, I just do. Watch it. But that's not actually what I need help with. Last week's episode ("K&R" part 1) featured an actor playing a young doctor whom I recognize from somewhere but cannot place, and it is driving me mad. He can be seen about 45 seconds into this clip that's probs gonna be pulled from youtube, so here's a slightly distorted screen-shot. Seriously. Help. I haven't been sleeping. Who the heck is he?

I didn't know this show was still on! How on earth did she start loving him, I thought she rejected all of Lyman's rec letters? Wha?! Oh, Jordan. I don't know who on earth that guy is. She's butchering these lines. Ew.

The episode is up on the NBC website if you want to check the credits at the show's end. The full cast list isn't on IMDB yet.

Isn't he the guy from a Verizon commercial?

Riese: All of a sudden, out of nowhere, right after he'd given up (because she's pretty but annoying and they have no chemistry, maybe?) she slipped a note under his watch's band that said, "I'm crazy about you." So easy! If only I'd known. She butchers all her lines - it's like they have no meaning. It's weird. Matthew Perry and Sarah Paulson at least have some semblance of chemistry. But it's really all about Nate Corddry. Which really isn't enough.

Anonymous 1: First thing I did when I watched it was rewind all over those credits (moment of love for DVR here), but he's not in them.

Anonymous 2: Are you the same person as Anon 1 helping out some more, or another person? I don't know if he's from a Verizon commercial, but that's good - I hadn't been thinking about commercials, and it feels like that might be right.

Keep the ideas coming, folks!

I'm pretty sure it's the Verizon commercial - there's romantic music and he meets this guy, and he's like "thanks for meeting me...I'm breaking up with you...it's just not working out" and it turns out to be his old cell phone company. He talks about Verizon having music videos and his old phone co tries to dance a disco thing and he says "Stop, you're embarrassing yourself."

And I'm anon2, different from anon1

Thanks, Anon 2. Unfortunately, I don't think I've actually seen that commercial. (Which is mindboggling, since all I do is watch tv.) But I bet he's in it. He seems like a commercials kinda guy.

He looks nothing like your husband Duncan Sheik.

It's been driving me crazy as well, and I've searched all over the web and can't find any mention of the actor playing this part. I think he was on some 1990's show (Party of 5 keeps coming to mind, even though I'm pretty sure that's not right).

The actor is JD Walsh, and he played Donald on Dharma & Greg (the high school kid who had a crush on Dharma).

Gayle, you win. Brilliant. I think I know him from a Domino's commercial.

Now I just have to find the commercial...

JD Walsh is listed in the credits, but in the only place where they list who he played (tv.com), they incorrectly identify him as playing Luke Scott.

I think he was in a Verizon commercial.
