Yes!

August: Osage County is coming to Broadway.

I've read this play and it's killer, and I just love Tracy Letts. I am very, very excited, both for him to be on Broadway, and for me to get to see it. Bug off-Broadway and Killer Joe in a teeny studio at Trinity Rep were two of the most powerful theatrical experiences of my life. I just hope they keep some of the Chicago cast. At least Jeff Perry.

[Update from Mark in the comments: "The only member of the Chicago cast who isn't coming is a 15-year old who's staying behind for school. Other than that, the cast is transferring intact, which is a huge statement of faith by the producers. Opening a 13-person play on Broadway without movie stars is pretty great." Amen.]

[Update 2, Mark again: "TOC says Rick Snyder isn't coming either."]

In addition to the joys of a succesful run and a transfer, this move opens up a number of slots in Steppenwolf's production of "The Crucible."

(I'm rooting for some friends who are auditioning.)
